INTERFER 2.0 is a software for interferogram evaluation. It works with non-compressed picture files of TIFF type with 256 grey levels and converts them into a special data format. This data format displays interferograms by means of only 64 grey levels and the rest of 192 attributes is applied for colour identification of different objects needed for the evaluation process. This software is equipped with a number of graphic functions orientated to the improvement of interferogram quality, but in particular, it comprises special evaluating functions and it allows to the user to perform appropriate program modifications based on concrete requirements for evaluating process. The user can introduce coordinate system, scales of reproduction, wavelength of light source applied, in addition, he can create a proper set of variables needed for the evaluation of interferogram types requested. Proper processing is performed through different functions allowing e.g. an automatic generation of a curve copying interference fringe shape, generation of straight line at which the interference fringes positions are evaluated automatically, or curve generation of required shape in picture. All these geometric configurations are numbered within its category and the user can edit them afterwards at any time. The above variables and evaluated configurations are written, based on the structure created by the user, into a "readable" disk file destined for processing by any external programs. For this purpose, the software INTERFER is equipped even with the possibility of starting external user programs, namely including automatic data transmission from actual interferogram picture.
